What Are the Power Grids Energizing Your Life Made Of?

This piece reframes power not as money or status, but as the capacity to effect change through relationship and connection to forces greater than the individual. Drawing on shamanic and ancestral frameworks, it explores how the “power grid” of what we habitually relate to shapes our energy, destiny, and the kind of power we bring into the world.

Power and What We Are Actually Seeking

Although it may not appear to be the case at first glance, what many people in the arenas of spirituality, self-development, and personal cultivation are actually searching for is power.

This might sound as if it’s not the case from a certain vantage point, because in our world today, in modern Western civilization, we have been conditioned to associate power, the ability to actually change the world, to affect something within reality, with money and status.

Many people think and believe that those are the primary forms of power in the world.

I’m not going to say that those forms of power do not hold great sway in the way that the world currently moves, but it is by far not the only way to access power.

In this way, when we are seeking a new set of skills, either spiritual skills or skills to work with something, to heal something, to address something, to release something, that is power.

The power to heal.
The power to release.
The power to address.

Without the ability to access power, many of us are, in a way, helpless. Or at the very least, we feel helpless. Because without a sense that we can actually access power, we can’t change anything.

We are just at the whim of all of the forces acting upon us.

And this is important to recognize, because without a sense of power, a lot of what we hope to actually be able to do and be is not going to be accessible.

One of the reasons power is talked about the way that it is today is precisely to keep people from being able to access power.

Power as Relationship

There is a way to neutralize this belief structure that impacts people in modern civilization.

And that is to return to a core shamanic idea: power is not about what you can generate as an individual or what you can acquire, but what you are connected to.

In fact, the more profound layers of power are found when you become an instrument for a force greater than you are.

We can see this at a beginner level in Qigong practice.

One of the common themes in energy work is to connect to the heavens and the earth in some way. In doing that, we allow ourselves to access the energy, the chi, coming from heaven and earth, and allow it into us to fuel certain processes.

Or we see this in sages and holy workers who become, so to speak, a straw for the divine essence within reality.

So this notion of accessing deeper levels of power by stepping outside the belief that it is just about what you as an individual can generate is one of the great secrets of power.

And also, not so secret.

A core shamanic principle is that everything is relational.

That is where shamanism really shines.
In relationship.

Animism, Shamanism, and Access to Power

When you approach shamanism from an indigenous and traditional perspective and compare it to monotheistic traditions like Christianity and Catholicism, you’ll notice a particular difference.

In animist and shamanic cultures, power is accessible everywhere. That allows human beings to engage in the cycle of power.

From a monotheistic perspective, everything is in the hands of God alone, and in that way, we can’t really address power directly.

This is why in animist and shamanic cultures you have magic.

Magic is the ability to pick up a stone, a feather, to engage with a natural force, to mix these elements in a way that did not exist before, to create a spell or an enchantment.

It is the ability to bring different powers together, connect to an underlying energetic current, and then direct that power.

It allows you to access the forces of creation and destruction directly.

It engages you with power.

This works because the rock, the feather, the natural force, all have a unique form of power.

And this represents a fundamental shift in how we understand our relationship to power in today’s world.

Power Grids and What Shapes Us

Power is not just about you.

It is about what you allow into your life, what you cohere with on a consistent basis, and what you choose to relate to.

What you relate to consistently shapes your current of power.

Yes, there are also fated circumstances. Elements you do not choose that influence the type of power you wield.

Family ties.
The body you were born into.
Culture.
Ethnic inheritance.

These are elements that cannot be directly changed.

But when you begin to engage with what can be shifted, and the choices that you make, you start to understand that your power comes from what you are fundamentally connected to.

These are your power grids.

If that language doesn’t land, think about it this way.

Everything in existence, every thought, every emotion, every primal force, every manufactured contemporary force, every ancestral current, all of it, carries power.

If you are connected to something consistently, and you become an instrument for it in the world, a node for that power, then it is part of your power grid.

Instagram.
The lake outside your home.
Walmart.
Wild herbs growing nearby.
The power of love.
The power of greed.
Thor.
Jehovah.

Whatever deeply influences you and allows power to move into your life is part of your power grid.

Transmission and Consequence

Your power grid does not only shape the energetics of the power you express.

It also brings more of that power into the world.

Because whatever you are powered by, you transmit.

One of the core messages I do my best to transmit through my work is that the ancestors are a profound source of power.

This power is deeply connected to the fabric of who you are in this lifetime.

It is connected to the systems and structures currently running the world.

And it is invested in you thriving.

Because that is the impulse of life itself.
And that impulse is ancestral.

The more integrated our relationship with the ancestral becomes, through ancestral veneration, lineage repair, or bringing ancestral lifeways into daily life, the more the ancestral becomes a power source.

That might be squatting.
Spending time in nature.
Awakening ancestral intelligence in the body.

When that happens, you are supported by the entire story of life.
A multi-billion-year lineage of living and dying beings.

That is a profound source of power.

The Question of Destiny and Power Signature

Now that I’ve spoken about the ancestral, the deeper question becomes this:

What powers your life?
What energizes your world?
What do you work with consistently?

An emotion.
A belief structure.
A physical practice.
A tradition.
A religion.
A political party.
The land where you live.

All of it is part of a power grid.

And that power grid is both offering you power and shaping the current of energy that you release into the world.

This matters because each destiny has a power signature.

If you want to complete your destiny, there is a power signature that it resonates with more than others.

So the deeper question becomes:

What power signature are you developing and cultivating through the power grid that is moving through you right now?
